Sonatrach exhibit the Algerian art
collection of the painter Juanita Guccione
Sonatrach has purchased, in 2004, 174 art works of the
American painter Juanita Guccione. These pictures depict
different aspects of the daily life of people in Hodna region
during the thirties of the 20th century.
Juanita Guccione's paintings are currently on permanent
exhibition at the Art Gallery of Sonatrach's head office
in Algiers. The objective is to allow a large number of
visitors to enjoy the Ouled Nail magnificent portraits as
well as the beautiful landscapes of the city of Boussaâda
and its surrounding area.
Bio-Express Juanita Guccione
Juanita Guccione (1904 - 1999) came to Algeria in 1930
and settled in the region of Boussaâda where she got
married to an Ouled Nail man. Fascinated by Boussaâda
countryside and its people, the artist spent four years
painting an impressive pallet of characters, scenes and
landscape of Hodna region.
